Our Story: Driven by Social Justice
In 2020, a multidisciplinary team of doctors and engineers specialising in fields such as Engineering, Oceanography, Quantum Physics, Astrophysics, and Economics came together with a shared vision: to develop new technology to protect the planet.
We created a set of artificial intelligence algorithms based on satellite imagery, capable of quantifying Natural Capital and detecting air, water, and soil pollution on a global scale. Our technology not only assesses natural assets such as forests, rivers, mangroves, and aquifers, but also identifies environmental liabilities, including air and water quality.
Through this technological breakthrough, we uncovered a harsh reality: thousands of sacrifice zones exist around the world—places where industrial pollution is destroying lives, causing severe illness, and generating overwhelming social injustice. Moved by this discovery, we took our mission further in 2023 and founded PlanetAI Nature Space, with the aim of quantifying and certifying the planet’s natural assets, while promoting conservation projects through carbon credits.
Our purpose goes beyond deploying technology worldwide—we also seek to learn from Indigenous communities and their unparalleled ancestral wisdom. We believe that by integrating their ancient knowledge with cutting-edge innovation, we can protect the Earth in a more just and sustainable way.
Our goal is to quantify the Planet’s Natural Capital and provide the evidence necessary to promote environmental justice and ensure transparency in the management of natural resources. Together, we are building a future where technology and nature unite to safeguard the well-being of generations to come.
